What is

ORACLE is more than just a speech competition—it's a platform where tomorrow's leaders find their voice. Named after the ancient prophets who spoke truth to power, ORACLE empowers participants to articulate their vision for a better world.

Oracle is a massive islandwide Inter-University Best Speaker Competition conducted by SLIIT Gavel Club, considering collaboration, growth, and development among the undergraduates and youth of our country. Through three challenging phases, contestants will demonstrate their mastery of rhetoric, critical thinking, and persuasive communication. Only the most compelling voices will emerge as finalists in this prestigious competition.

Competition Highlights

ORACLE kicks off with a physical Workshop that focuses on public speaking & personal branding.
The workshop will be followed by an Online Round 1
The top 10 participants will gather physically to compete in the Final Round
Exciting Cash Prizes & a Winner's Cup!
All registered participants will receive an E-Certificate (if not selected as a finalist)

Phase 1

Workshop

July 20th, 2025

The workshop will be held physically and will cover topics on Public Speaking & Personal Branding.

Venue: Royal College Union Skills Center
Time: 1 pm to 5 pm
The workshops will guide the participants for the challenge ahead - the speech competition.

Phase 2

Round 1

July 26th & 27th, 2025

Live virtual round. Open to all registered and confirmed participants.

Open Topic. Contestants are allowed to choose their topic, format, or style for their speech.

Phase 3

Grand Finale

August 10th, 2024

The Grand Finale of ORACLE where the Winner reaches the pinnacle of history!

Venue: Main Auditorium, SLIIT Malabe
Prepared Speech Challenge
Cash Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 contestants and the Winner will be awarded the ORACLE Competition Trophy

Rules & Regulations

Clear guidelines to ensure a fair and competitive environment for all participants

Eligibility

Participants must be currently registered at any Recognized University in Sri Lanka.
Speech should be authentic material prepared by the speaker.
Contestants will present a prepared speech from 5 to 7 minutes in length.

Presentations

Participants must have the camera on for the Round 1 Online Round.
Audio must be clear and without background noise
Speeches exceeding specified time limits will result in penalties.

Conduct

Respectful behavior towards all participants and judges
No plagiarism or use of copyrighted material
Speeches must refrain from including any political content, hate speech, or any other expression deemed inappropriate or harmful to society or individual sentiments
